In the paper, ceiling supply type and different configurations of underfloor air -conditioning systems are first briefly described, Without going into the engineering computational analysis, the various fundamental key issues such as air distribution ,flexibility ,air leakage ,

condensation ,life cycle costing ,floor height ,fire protection ,sick building syndrome ,ect .are qualitatively and pragmatically outlined .The implications of these factors on system selection are also reviewed.
