Reducing duct sttic pressure in Variable,air-volum

This paper presents two field studies for the energy performance of VAV air conditioing systerms when duct static pressure was reduced. The first one was based on manual reset of duct static pressure whilst the second based on a recently developed DDC scheme using the summation of air flow rate passing through each VAV box as the control signal. In both studies, significant fan power saving has been achieved.
