EMERSON CLIMATE TECHNOLOGIES LAUNCHES NEW WHITE-RODGERS LOGO
ST. LOUIS, July 27, 2005 – Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), today announced the introduction of a new logo for White-Rodgers. The new logo coincides with White-Rodgers’ recent move to the Emerson corporate campus in St. Louis.
“This is an exciting time for White-Rodgers,” said Earle Weaver, president of White-Rodgers. “The introduction of our fresh, new division logo illustrates our commitment to our products and services, and our new, modern facility will allow us to bring more collaborative projects to market for our customers.”
White-Rodgers officially adopted its new divisional logo in March. The new logo was designed to present White-Rodgers in a bold, new format and reflect the innovation and action of the company. The image has been strengthened, yet simplified in order to improve legibility and impact, permitting for better brand identification. The red triangle indicator retains the visual equity and heritage of past logos.
Before adopting the new logo, White-Rodgers conducted HVACR industry-related focus groups to gain feedback on the updated design. Three out of four trade respondents preferred the new logo over the previous design. Said one focus-group participant, “The logo is easier to read and gives a more modern presentation of a cutting-edge thermostat.” Respondents also indicated that the new logo design will be even more appealing to today’s consumer.
“We felt that it was important to conduct these focus groups since the White-Rodgers logo appears on the front of the thermostat, where it is most prominent,” Weaver said.
In addition to unveiling the new logo, White-Rodgers has relocated to its own building on the Emerson corporate campus on West Florissant Avenue in St. Louis. According to Weaver, the new building gives White-Rodgers the space necessary to grow its business and to incorporate the latest technologies in product research and development labs. “Our new facility will allow us to bring even more cutting-edge and collaborative projects to market,” Weaver said. “The new location and space bring engineering and testing personnel together from our sister divisions and will result in even better products for our customers.”
Upgrades to the White-Rodgers testing laboratories include:
Ethernet data acquisition that allows for programming, monitoring and data uploads from remote locations
Department of Energy test fixtures that are capable of automatically running 24-hour standby loss and first-hour ratings on gas water heaters
33 percent more testing stations
Increased water, power and air supplies for better alternate-gas, water-heater-temperature and flow- and pressure-monitoring capabilities
