United Technologies Receives Green Building Award, Reaffirms Supp

BEIJING, China, April 1, 2013 – United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX), a leading provider of high technology products and services to the aerospace and building systems industries, became the first corporation to receive the Urban Studies - Green Building Practices Award presented by the Chinese Society for Urban Studies (CSUS).

The award was presented at a special ceremony today during the International Conference on Green and Energy-efficient Buildings (IGEBC), the largest green building event in China. The award recognizes United Technologies’ outstanding contributions to green building innovation and development in the country.

In his remarks, Mr. Shuster shared results from the 2012 World Green Building Trends Study conducted by McGraw-Hill Construction, a global research organization, that explored building trends in 62 countries worldwide. According to the study, a third of the respondents said more than 60 percent of their design portfolio in 2012 is associated with green building activity, providing solid evidence of just how widespread green building practices have become.
